Ya know how the food and drink you consume support your body in different ways? Well, the same is true for your teeth! Eating foods that benefit your teeth is a great way to reinforce your daily brushing + flossing habits.

Dr. White recommends a well-balanced diet for better oral health!

Let's explore some of the foods that best support your teeth -

  • WATER: we know, you hear this all the time but... water is good for every part of you and most Americans don't drink enough. For teeth, drinking fluoridated water washes away left behind particles from food and can help prevent tooth decay!

  • PROTEIN: meat, fish, eggs, and nuts offer SO many different vitamins and minerals such as folic acid, magnesium, vitamin D, vitamin E, vitamin B6, and potassium - these keep your teeth + gums happy (:

  • DAIRY: calcium-rich foods such as milk, cheese, and yogurt help repair damaged enamel and prevent tooth decay

  • BLACK TEA: many recent studies have shown that black tea can reduce harmful bacteria that cause cavities and periodontal disease

  • LEAFY GREENS: foods like spinach, kale, and lettuce are rich in calcium, folic acid, vitamin A, vitamin K + lots of other vitamins and minerals that your teeth and gums love. Crunchy, fresh greens in salads and sandwiches also help in cleaning your teeth while you eat!

Recipe Idea - a well-rounded salad that your mouth will love!
